India now has restrictions on all types of rice

Here is a list of India’s measures for rice:

Basmati: India set a minimum export price of USD 1 200 per tonne. The floor is designed to prevent the sale of non-basmati rice from being sold as the more expensive aromatic variety. Basmati rice accounted for around 20% of deliveries in 2021-22.

Non-Basmati Parboiled: The Indian government imposed a 20% export tax on the grain, confirming an earlier Bloomberg News report on the tariff. Non-Basmati Parboiled accounted for around 30% of deliveries in 2021-22.

Broken: Last year, India banned the sale abroad of the broken variety. Bruten accounted for around 20% of deliveries in 2021-22.
