US stock market rally bodes well for consumption
The US stock market rally as measured by the benchmark S&P 500 index has gone up 25% since the November FOMC meeting, an increase of $10.9 billion. In comparison, private consumption as measured by US consumer spending in 2023 was $19 billion.
